Huge Blow For CSK As Deepak Chahar Ruled Out Of IPL 2022
Deepak Chahar suffered the back injury during his rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
Chennai Super Kings’ medium pacer Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after sustaining a back injury during his rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
Chahar had been recovering from the quadriceps tear that he sustained in India’s T20I series against West Indies in February and was expected to join the CSK camp towards the end of April.
The Super Kings are badly missing the services of the bowling all-rounder, who is a terrific swing bowler and can provide wickets in power plays. The defending champions are having a disastrous season as they lost all the four matches they played so far in the tournament and are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table.
Chahar, who played a key role in the team’s success last year has featured in 58 IPL matches for CSK between 2018 and 2021, where he picked 58 wickets at an economy rate of 7.70.
The Indian pacer, who has been an integral part of the CSK for quite some time now, was brought back by the Chennai-based franchise for Rs 14 crore during the mega auctions which took place in Bengaluru in February.
