

Pakistan’s rising star with the bat, Abdullah Shafique, is thrilled and prepared to don the national colours in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023, set to be played from October 5 in India.
Speaking before heading to India for the prestigious event, Shafique stated that he is ready to accept any role the team offers him, and he is always prepared for it.
Here’s what Abdullah Shafique told media:
“I am very happy to be selected in the World Cup squad. Shafique, 23, is ready to take on any role assigned to him by the team management, showcasing his versatility.”
“I joined as the third opener, but I will try to do well whenever I get a chance. Getting the opportunity is not in my hands, but I will take advantage of this opportunity. As a professional, you have to make sacrifices, and I am ready to play when I get an opportunity.”
Abdullah Shafique has represented Pakistan in four ODI matches so far, including Pakistan’s final Super 4 game against Sri Lanka, where he scored 52 runs off 69 deliveries.
