The five-day final will begin on September 6, 2026, with television coverage and live streaming also available for viewers.

The quarterfinals, starting August 23, and the semifinals, starting August 30, will continue to be played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.

However, spectators will not be allowed at the CoE due to government restrictions. The BCCI therefore decided to shift the final to a venue where fans can attend.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia explained the reason behind the move, saying, “Because of some government restrictions, we cannot allow the public to watch the matches at the CoE.”

“In view of that, we have moved the final to the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai,” Saikia added.

The move will give cricket fans a chance to watch some of India’s top domestic players in action during the final of one of the country’s premier first-class tournaments.

Central Zone will enter the competition as the defending champions after beating South Zone in the previous edition. The team will look to retain the title when the 2026 tournament gets underway.

With the final now set to be played in Chennai, the BCCI has ensured that the biggest match of the tournament can be watched by fans inside the stadium.
