MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain, continues to be a fan magnet even after retirement. His immense popularity was on display once again on Friday night in Ahmedabad during the Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings IPL 2024 match.
A fan, overcome with emotions, breached security to enter the field with the sole purpose of touching MS Dhoni’s feet. It all happened during the final over of CSK’s run-chase, with Dhoni himself on the strike.

Despite the brief interruption, Dhoni continued to enthral the crowd with a quick-fire 26 runs off just 11 balls, including two back-to-back sixes against Rashid Khan.
Speaking of the game, young guns Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan stole the show for Gujarat Titans. Both openers smashed brilliant centuries – Gill scoring 104 off 55 balls and Sudharsan reaching his maiden IPL ton off just 51 deliveries.
Their destructive partnership propelled GT to a mammoth total of 231/3. The CSK batting line-up, despite valiant fifties from Daryl Mitchell (63) and Moeen Ali (56), could only manage 196/8, falling short by 35 runs.
