The former cricketer argued that the system has remained unchanged, pointing to Pakistan’s historic 2017 Champions Trophy victory.

He then shared an anecdote about the 2017 final against India, revealing how both Sarfaraz Ahmed and coach Mickey Arthur urged him to play, even though Rumman Raees had done well in the semi-finals.

Here’s what Mohammad Amir said:

“I was suffering from a back spasm in the 2017 Champions Trophy. Rumman Raees had replaced me and he did really well. I got fit and played in the finals because Mickey Arthur and Saifi Bhai said that Amir would win the match. Kya system ne kaha tha behen ki…sorry.”
