Babar Azam was visibly annoyed with Dhaka wicketkeeper Irfan Sukkur.
Babar Azam, the ex-captain of Pakistan, found himself in a verbal spat with the animated Durdanto Dhakka wicketkeeper while batting for Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 on Saturday, January 27.
The right-hander was visibly upset with Dhaka’s wicketkeeper Irfan Sukkur. Meanwhile, Dhaka batter Mohammad Naim Sheikh had to step in and calm Irfan down. Babar kept repeating, ‘I’m not talking to you’ while confronting Irfan.
Babar was also spotted narrating the entire incident with the batting partner Mohammad Nabi. The on-field umpires had to step in to bring some calm to the situation. Interestingly, this marked the first time Babar Azam found himself in a heated exchange.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam used this spat as fuel, steering the Riders to a 79-run win. Starting as the opener, the 29-year-old breezed through to a half-century in 41 balls. He maintained the pace, ending with 62 runs off 46 balls, including 5 fours and a six.
