Mohammed Shami departed Australian opener Mitchell Marsh in first over
India and Australia commenced their three-match ODI series on Friday, September 22 at Mohali, and it was India’s pacer Mohammed Shami who stole the limelight by taking down Australia’s star player, Mitchell Marsh, in the very first over.
It all happened on the fourth delivery of the first over when Shami sent down a wicked delivery just outside off, and Marsh took a swipe, but he ended up nicking it straight into the safe hands of Shubman Gill in the slips. Marsh’s brief cameo ended at just four runs from four balls.

Earlier, India won the coin toss and decided to take to the field first. Notably, Shreyas Iyer, who had a bout of back trouble during the Asia Cup 2023, has made his comeback. Furthermore, R Ashwin is also part of the starting XI.
