Yastika Bhatia Becomes First-Ever Left-Hander to Score Half-Century in WPL History
Yastika Bhatia scored 57 runs from 45 balls.
In a groundbreaking moment at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on February 23, Mumbai Indians Women opener Yastika Bhatia blazed her way to a half-century, making her the first-ever left-hander to achieve this feat in Women’s Premier League (WPL) history.
It is quite surprising that in the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League, no left-hander managed to score a half-century. Yastika Bhatia scored 57 runs off 45 deliveries with a strike rate of 126.67, smashing eight boundaries and two maximum hits.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians Women, reigning champions, made a powerful start to their tournament journey by clinching a nail-biting four-wicket win against Delhi Capitals Women in a thrilling last-ball encounter.
