Rohit Sharma has completed 500 sixes in T20 cricket, becoming the first Asian to achieve this milestone in the shortest format of the game.
The MI opener reached this feat during the 29th match of IPL 2024 between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 14.
It happened on the second delivery of the 11th over, while Jadeja was bowling. Sharma attempted a sweep, but the ball didn’t connect well with the bat and instead flew to deep square leg for a six.
The 36-year-old is also the first Indian batter to accomplish this feat, with Virat Kohli trailing behind at 383 sixes. Following Kohli are MS Dhoni with 331 sixes and Suresh Raina with 320 sixes.
