IND vs WI: Obed McCoy Dismantles Team India, Achieves Unprecedented Record

Obed McCoy registered the best bowling figures in T20Is against India.

The West Indies left-arm pacer Obed McCoy, on Monday (August 1, 2022) ran through the Indian batting lineup to register career-best figures of 6/17 in the second T20I played at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts.

Earlier, Nicholas Pooran won the toss and invited the Men in Blue to bat first. The Caribbean bowlers seconded their skipper’s decision of bowling first as they bowled out India for 138 runs in 19.4 overs.

The wrecker in chief was Obed McCoy, who sent more than half the team back to the pavilion to set the stage for the hosts. The 25-year-old struck on the very first ball of the innings as he removed the India skipper Rohit Sharma for a golden duck.

The left-arm pacer then got the second wicket by dismissing Suryakumar Yadav in his second over. McCoy wasn’t done there as he came back and jolted India once again, removing Ravindra Jadeja, Dinesh Karthik, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and R Ashwin to complete his six-wicket haul.

Following this, McCoy registered the best bowling figures for West Indies in men’s T20Is. He also became the first bowler to take 6 wickets against India in men’s T20I.
