The Twenty20 format is considered as one of the most entertaining formats in cricket. The bowlers and batters enjoy it equally. While some batsmen smash bowlers, many believe in getting smashed by bowlers.
We even have seen West Indians like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell smashing mighty hundreds in a 20-over game in the past. However, no one ever scored a double century in a T20 game. But a Delhi cricketer recently broke the record and achieved the untouched record.
Delhi batsman Subodh Bhati scripted history on Sunday as he became the first batsman to score a double-hundred in a Twenty20 game. Bhati achieved the feat in a club T20 tournament where he featured for Delhi XI.
Subodh Bhati opened the batting for Delhi XI New against Simba and went on to create history by smashing double-hundred in Twenty20. He hit an unbeaten 205 in just 79 balls and was a nightmare for all the bowlers as he smashed 17 sixes and as many boundaries. Delhi XI New posted a whopping 256 on the board.
Notably, this is Subodh’s second double century in the format. He previously scored an astonishing 57-ball 207 for Sanguem Cricketers with the help of 21 sixes and 13 fours in 2018. Subodh’s knock had helped his team post a massive target of 329.
