Zimbabwe to Host Sri Lanka for White-Ball Series Ahead of Busy Home Season
Zimbabwe to host Sri Lanka for 2 ODIs and 3 T20Is from August 29 at Harare Sports Club ahead of a packed home season

Zimbabwe will host Sri Lanka for a limited-overs tour starting August 29, featuring two ODIs and three T20Is, all set to be played at the Harare Sports Club. The short series is expected to be an important preparation phase for Zimbabwe, especially ahead of the T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final, which begins on September 19.
The five-match series will not only serve as a warm-up for Zimbabwe’s T20 aspirations but also mark the beginning of a packed home season. With Test matches lined up against South Africa and New Zealand later this year, and a T20I tri-series featuring the same two teams, Zimbabwe will be keen to start the stretch with strong performances.
Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni expressed confidence that the Sri Lanka tour will offer fans a competitive and exciting contest.
The T20I leg in particular will be under sharp focus. Zimbabwe narrowly missed out on the 2024 T20 World Cup and will be eager to avoid any setbacks this time around. Matches against a seasoned Sri Lankan outfit will give the home side a good idea of their strengths and areas needing improvement.
