BCCI opens bids for Team India jersey sponsor after Dream11 exit; new sponsor likely before Women’s World Cup 2025.

The fantasy sports company ended its ₹358 crore contract following the introduction of the Online Gaming Bill in Parliament, which affected its operations.

With the Asia Cup 2025 around the corner, BCCI is moving quickly to ensure fresh logos are on the Indian team’s kits in time.

BCCI Opens Doors for New Partners

In an official release, the board announced the sale of its “Invitation for Expression of Interest” (IEOI) for National Team Lead Sponsor Rights. Interested companies must purchase the document for a non-refundable fee of ₹5 lakh plus tax.

Key dates are:

  • September 2, 2025: IEOI released
  • September 12, 2025: Last date to buy IEOI
  • September 16, 2025: Last date to submit bids

Who Can and Cannot Apply

To be eligible, firms must have either an average turnover or net worth of ₹300 crore over the past three years. BCCI also requires bidders to be “fit and proper,” with no criminal background, fraud involvement, or financial defaults.

Certain sectors are barred from participation, including online betting, gambling, money gaming, cryptocurrency, alcohol, tobacco, and pornography.

Proxy or surrogate branding is strictly prohibited, meaning companies cannot front for banned industries.

Additionally, sponsors already tied to BCCI in sectors like sportswear, banking, insurance, and beverages cannot apply again under the same categories.

Race Against Time

The sponsorship deal is one of the most sought-after in Indian sports, as the lead sponsor’s logo appears on the jerseys of India’s men’s, women’s, and youth teams.

While there is a tight deadline before the Asia Cup, BCCI is confident a new deal will be in place before the Women’s World Cup, which begins on September 30, 2025.
