Duckett, who has had the better of Siraj this series, once again pushed India’s pacer to the edge, this time with words.

The tension peaked when Siraj was seen pointing fingers at Duckett, even when he was at the non-striker’s end. The England batter, known for his fearless strokeplay, had already hammered 74 runs off Siraj at a strike rate close to 90 in the series.

On Friday, Duckett looked in full control as he stitched a dominant 166-run opening stand with Zak Crawley. But as tempers flared, Siraj couldn’t hold back. The umpire had to step in and cool things down.

Duckett, unfazed, continued his fine form and went on to score 94 before debutant Anshul Kamboj got him out with a sharp delivery. This was the latest in a series of fiery face-offs between the two, but once again, Duckett had the last laugh.

As for Siraj, it was a forgettable day. He went wicketless for 58 runs in his 10 overs. England ended the day strongly at 225 for 2, still trailing by 133 but looking firmly in control.

With Joe Root and Ollie Pope set at the crease, Day 3 will be a big test for Siraj and India’s bowlers.
