‘Wanted to Hit Mitchell Starc for 6 Sixes in an Over’ – Riyan Parag

Rajasthan Royals, however, failed to qualify for the final of the IPL 2024.

Riyan Parag, the Rajasthan Royals all-rounder, recently shared an ambitious dream he had for the IPL 2024 final.

During a chat with Ranveer Allahbadia on his show “Beer Biceps,” Parag revealed he envisioned himself hitting Kolkata Knight Riders’ pace spearhead Mitchell Starc for six sixes in a single over.

However, Riyan Parag‘s dream remained unfulfilled, as Kolkata Knight Riders emerged victorious in IPL 2024. Infact, Rajasthan Royals didn’t even qualify for the finals, having been eliminated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier.

Here’s what Riyan Parag said in the podcast:

“I had envisioned something crazy. We were two games away from the playoffs, and I had made up my mind to hit Mitchell Starc for six sixes in the IPL final.”

“We needed 36 runs in one over, and I imagined hitting Starc for six sixes on six balls. I was in my room, practising shots with my pads on, figuring out the types of shots to play. This brings satisfaction and clarity.”

Riyan Parag had a standout season in IPL 2024, amassing 543 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of around 150. He consistently performed well, proving to be a key player for Rajasthan Royals, helping them win numerous games as a genuine matchwinner.
