Virat Kohli to Play in PSL Alongside Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi?
Shahid Afridi has invited Virat Kohli to play in PSL.
The Indian batting legend, Virat Kohli recently expressed his desire to visit Pakistan. Former Pakistan batting great Shahid Afridi lauded Kohli’s remarks and extended a heartfelt invitation for him to play in Pakistan.
“We are waiting for you to come to Pakistan and play in PSL or with the Indian team,” Afridi said, according to Odisha TV. “It would be good if you came with the Indian team.”
Political tensions and security concerns have put a halt on bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan for many years.
Currently, the two cricketing giants only meet during major ICC tournaments. Shahid Afridi has been a vocal advocate for the resumption of bilateral series, urging the Indian government to allow their team to play in Pakistan.
This sentiment seems to be shared by Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who previously expressed interest in a Test series against Pakistan. Notably, Pakistan will be hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and it will be interesting to see if team India travels to Pakistan for the tournament.
Meanwhile, Team India will face The Men in Green in the much-anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 match on June 9 in New York during the group stage. Following this, India will face the USA on June 12 and Canada on June 15.
