Virat Kohli Makes Bold ₹40 Crore Move as He Launches Fresh Expansion of His Own Brand
Virat Kohli ends Puma stint, invests in Agilitas through one8 and becomes a minority shareholder for long-term growth.
Virat Kohli has stepped into a new phase of his off-field career. He has ended his eight-year run as Puma’s brand ambassador and joined Agilitas Sports as a business partner through his lifestyle brand one8. The move marks a clear shift from being only the face of a company to becoming an investor with long-term control.
Kohli turned down a renewal offer reportedly worth Rs 300 crore after his Puma deal ended. Instead, he chose to invest Rs 40 crore of his own money into the one8 and Agilitas partnership. The company is co-founded by Abhishek Ganguly, who earlier headed Puma India.
Ganguly said the structure of the agreement makes Kohli a minority shareholder. He also noted that Kohli is thinking about long-term value, not about earning back the Rs 300 crore he let go. Kohli echoed this idea and said the project excited him once he understood the scale and expertise behind Agilitas.
Kohli wrote on social media that this is an important new chapter for one8 and that the partnership is driven by purpose and ambition. He said he believes Agilitas can grow into something big and that he wanted to be part of that journey.
This step places Kohli deeper in the sportswear and athleisure industry. By aligning one8 with Agilitas, he gains greater influence over products, strategy, and brand identity. It also opens the door for long-term financial growth in a fast-expanding market.
On the field, Kohli continues to stay in top form. He scored 302 runs, including two centuries, in three matches against South Africa. His strong return earned him Player of the Series and adds momentum to this business decision.
