Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma Request Break Post World Cup Disappointment – Report

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have reportedly requested a break from the South Africa ODI series following their World Cup heartbreak.

The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, in a surprising development, have formally asked management for a break from the South Africa ODIs scheduled for December 17, SportsTak reported on Wednesday.

In light of a recent report, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, integral to Team India‘s success in the 2023 World Cup, which also saw them reaching the final, are requesting a break to alleviate fatigue accumulated during the tournament.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma claimed the top spots in run-scoring during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Kohli’s stellar performance included 765 runs in 11 matches with a striking rate of 90.38, while Rohit Sharma amassed 597 runs from 11 games at a strike rate of 126.

Unfortunately, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s efforts were in vain, and India fell short in their bid to break a decade-long ICC trophy drought. Australia secured a six-wicket victory in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023, claiming their sixth title.
