UP Warriorz Unveil Banarasi Inspired Jersey for WPL 2026
UP Warriorz unveil Banarasi-themed “A Blooming Rebellion” jersey with Ekaya Banaras, to debut in WPL 2026 on Jan 10.
UP Warriorz have revealed their new playing jersey for WPL 2026, designed in partnership with luxury textile brand Ekaya Banaras. The kit blends Banaras craft with modern sportswear, marking a bold cultural statement ahead of the season.
Called “A Blooming Rebellion”, the jersey draws from Banarasi textile heritage. Floral motifs and silk-inspired patterns reflect the city’s weaving legacy, reworked for the pace and demands of elite T20 cricket.
The design focuses on speed, flexibility and comfort. It keeps a sharp, athletic look while allowing players full freedom of movement, something crucial in the fast-paced WPL format.
Team officials said the floral and cultural symbols stand for strength, renewal and continuity. The idea is to show a confident team that respects its roots while looking firmly ahead.
The jersey is also positioned as a statement on culture and modern femininity. It aims to give players a deeper sense of belonging, linking personal pride with team identity on a national stage.
For the franchise, the kit represents both Uttar Pradesh and the wider rise of women’s cricket in India. Fans will be able to buy the jersey through official merchandise outlets during the season.
UP Warriorz will wear the new kit for the first time in WPL 2026 against Gujarat Giants on January 10. The match will be played at DY Patil Stadium.
The launch reflects a growing WPL trend, where teams are using regional art and heritage to build a stronger visual identity. Similar ideas have helped franchises connect better with local fans.
UP Warriorz are owned by Capri Sports, part of Capri Global Holdings. The group also owns teams in UAE ILT20 and Pro Kabaddi.
Capri Global Capital Limited is a listed NBFC with a wide branch network across India. Its focus areas include MSME lending, housing, gold loans and construction finance.
