Trailblazers Won Women’s T20 Challenge 2020, Defeating Supernovas by 16 Runs in The Finals

Trailblazers won the Women's T20 Challenge championship for the first time by defeating Supernovas in the Women's T20 Challenge Final. railblazers gave Supernovas a target of 119 runs. In response, the Supernovas team managed to score 102 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Smriti Mandhana’s Trailblazers won the Women’s T20 Challenge championship for the first time by defeating Harmanpreet Kaur’s Supernovas in the Women’s T20 Challenge Final. With this, Harmanpreet’s team, which has been winning the tournament for the last 2 years, Smriti Mandhana, took away the title this time.

Batting first after losing the toss in the match in Sharjah, the Trailblazers gave Supernovas a target of 119 runs. In response, the Supernovas team managed to score 102 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored the highest 30 runs. At the same time, Salma Khatun of Supernovas got 3, Deepti Sharma got 2 and Sophie Ecclestone got one wicket.

Chamari Athapaththu Flopped in The Finals

Supernovas opener Chamari Athapaththu could not do anything special in this match. She was dismissed by Sophie Ecclestone on a personal score of 6 runs. In the last match against the Trailblazers, Chamari Athapaththu had made a Fantastic fifty and scored 67 runs.

Taniya-Jemimah Departs Early

Trailblazers scored 118 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Smriti Mandhana played brilliantly and made a fantastic fifty in the final of the WT20 Challenge. She scored 68 off 49 deliveries. Apart from Mandhana, no player could do anything special.

Radha Yadav’s Fifer

Radha Yadav took 5 wickets for Supernova. She became the first player to take 5 wickets in the Women’s T20 Challenge. She dismissed 3 batsmen in the last over of her spell and innings of Supernovas. At the same time, Shashikala Siriwardene and Poonam Yadav got 1-1 wickets.

Fantastic Start for Trailblazers

Opener and skipper Smriti Mandhana and Deandra Dottin got off to a good start for the Trailblazers. Mandhana played good shots and Dottin did not let the wicket fall from the other end. Together, the two took the score to 45 in the power-play.

71 Run Partnership for First Wicket

Mandhana and Dottin added 71 runs for the first wicket. Poonam Yadav broke this partnership and showed Deandra Dottin the path to the pavilion. Dottin scored 20 runs off 32 deliveries.

Richa-Deepti Failed to Handle Trailblazers Innings

Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma could not do anything special in this match. Deepti managed to score only 9 runs and was dismissed by Radha Yadav. After this, Richa also became Radha’s second hunt and was departs by scoring 10 runs in the same over.
