Throwback to When Ambati Rayudu Used to Borrow Virat Kohli’s Bat Before Every Match

The ongoing IPL rivalry between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has seen some interesting twists. Recently, former CSK batter Ambati Rayudu has been vocal in his criticism of RCB, particularly after they knocked CSK out of IPL 2024.

This might come as a surprise to some fans, as Rayudu and RCB captain Virat Kohli once shared a good camaraderie. Back in April 2023, Kohli even acknowledged Rayudu’s talent, calling him the most underrated batter in IPL history for his impressive performances with both Mumbai Indians and CSK.

But here’s a throwback to a lighter moment that highlights their past bond. During a chat with former teammate Harbhajan Singh in 2023, Rayudu revealed a hilarious superstition routine – borrowing a bat from Kohli every year.

He jokingly shared that while he had his own pre-match rituals, one involved getting a bat from Kohli. Rayudu even added that Kohli once “abused” him while handing over the bat that year.

While Rayudu has retired from the IPL, his recent commentary stint has seen him take digs at RCB. Apart from that, he has now started trolling the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on social media, having recently shared a story on his Instagram.
