IPL 2021: Rohit Sharma’s MI, on Friday were restricted to 131 for 6 in 20 overs which Punjab Kings comfortably chased down in 17.4 overs to end their 3-match losing streak in the IPL 2021.
Not only did MI’s batsmen, barring Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav, failed to fire once again, but their top-order struggles also continued to haunt the defending champions and were one of the main reasons behind their third defeat in 5 games.
Kieron Pollard, however, has shown only glimpses of his form while the biggest disappointment for Mumbai Indians has been Krunal Pandya who has failed to deliver good results with both bat and ball.
The left-handed all-rounder made his ODI debut in the series against England last month and did well. But he hasn’t been able to carry that form into IPL. Krunal has notched up only 29 runs at an average of 7.25 and his strike rate of 107.40 in the five innings so far.
Krunal Pandya has also picked only three wickets while bowling on surfaces that are assisting the spinners right through from the first match of the season. In 16 overs he has bowled this season, the left-arm spinner has conceded 116 runs and has picked wickets at an average of 38.66, which is not at all impressive for the team.
Krunal Pandya is so dedicated to his game that he always tries to give his 100 percent on the field for his team. However, there are moments when things might not work in the way he expects them to work, and in case if such a thing happens, it becomes all visible in Krunal’s reaction. A lot of times, it was seen in the last couple of matches that he was getting angry on the fielders when there was no chance that the ball could be stopped.
