“Shubman Gill Better Than Dhoni” – Sehwag’s Son Makes Bold Choice

Virender Sehwag’s son Aaryavir has grabbed attention without even playing a match in the Delhi Premier League 2025.

The 17-year-old, picked up by Central Delhi Kings for Rs 8 lakh, is yet to make his debut in the competition but has already made headlines with his surprising picks in a fun rapid-fire game.

In a this-or-that session with InsideSport, Aaryavir was asked to choose between pairs of Indian cricketers.

At first, his choices seemed straightforward, he went with Shubman Gill over Abhishek Sharma, then stuck with Gill again ahead of KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Hardik Pandya.

Gill Ahead of Dhoni and Rohit

The real shock came when Aaryavir chose Shubman Gill over Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

For many fans, this looked like an odd choice, considering Dhoni’s legendary stature and World Cup triumphs.

But the youngster clearly sees Gill as his top pick among modern cricketers.

He didn’t stop there. Aaryavir then put Gill above Rohit Sharma, one of India’s most successful white-ball batters.

Gill also edged out Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson in his selections, showing just how highly the teenager rates the current Test captain.

Kohli Over Sachin

Eventually, Gill lost out when Virat Kohli entered the fray. Aaryavir called Kohli the greatest batter of his generation and picked him over Sachin Tendulkar, even though he acknowledged that his father’s favourite was the Little Master.

While his choices may sound unusual to many fans, they highlight the changing tastes of young cricketers, with Shubman Gill’s popularity clearly on the rise among the next generation.
