Shreyas Iyer Will Lead Team India After Rohit Sharma, Says KKR Head Coach
Shreyas Iyer recently led KKR to their 3rd IPL title.
Chandrakant Pandit, the head coach of the KKR team, believes that Shreyas Iyer has the potential to lead the Indian cricket team in the future.
Chandrakant Pandit’s comments come in the wake of Iyer’s successful leadership, guiding the KKR franchise to victory in the IPL 2024 final against SRH at the M Chidambaram Stadium on May 26.
In a career filled with coaching successes, Pandit reached a new high by securing an IPL trophy as head coach, building on his track record of guiding Mumbai, Vidarbha, and Madhya Pradesh to Ranji Trophy triumphs.
Extolling Iyer’s captaincy, Pandit praised his leadership qualities and the manner in which he led KKR throughout the tournament. Here’s what he told the Times of India:
“I would give a lot of credit to Shreyas. He’s been a fantastic captain, very calm and cool. He was receptive to our suggestions and handled the team well on and off the field. With KKR, he showed the qualities which make him worthy for India captaincy in the future,” Pandit told The Times of India.
Earlier, Robin Uthappa, the former KKR player also stated that Shreyas Iyer could be a great choice to lead team India in the future.
