Shreyas Iyer Ruled Out Of New Zealand Series Due To Back Injury, Rajat Patidar Named Replacement
Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand owing to a back injury.
Shreyas Iyer, on Tuesday, January 18 ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand starting Wednesday with a back injury.
The newly-appointed senior selection committee named Rajat Patidar as his replacement. Iyer will now head to the NCA for recovery process.
BCCI’s Statement:
“Team India batter Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the upcoming 3-match ODI series against New Zealand due to a back injury. He will be heading to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for further assessment and management. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Rajat Patidar as a replacement for Shreyas Iyer.”
Iyer played the recently-concluded three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, where he couldn’t make huge impact with the bat, having scored 28, 28 and 38, respectively.
