Indian cricket all-rounder Shardul Thakur, a key player for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has undergone successful ankle surgery. This procedure will require him to undergo an extended period of rehabilitation and recovery.
Shardul Thakur’s return to CSK this IPL season was highly anticipated, especially with the chance to reunite with his idol MS Dhoni. However, the season didn’t go as planned. Thakur struggled with form, managing only 5 wickets in 9 games with a high economy rate.
Adding to his woes, an ankle niggle developed throughout the season, ultimately becoming a serious injury that ended his IPL campaign. The all-rounder took to social media to confirm the successful surgery.
He will now start a rehabilitation program designed by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to regain full fitness for competitive cricket.
The recovery timeline is expected to be several months, with Thakur working closely with physiotherapists and trainers to ensure a complete recovery.
