Shaheen Shah Afridi Rates Mohammad Rizwan As A Better Captain Than National Team Skipper Babar Azam
Shaheen Afridi was recently named as captain of Lahore Qalandars in the PSL.
Pakistan speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi has recently been appointed captain of the Lahore Qalandars for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022.
Afridi, while addressing a press conference, was asked about the best captain in Pakistan cricket and interestingly, rather amusingly the answer wasn’t current skipper Babar Azam.
Pakistan fast bowler picked Mohammad Rizwan as the better captain than Babar Azam, who’s currently the national skipper across all three formats.
Further speaking on Rizwan, Afridi added that that he started playing domestic cricket with Rizwan, and he feels that the wicketkeeper batter is the best captain that he has played under.
At the same time, Shaheen also stated that Babar Azam has done a fantastic job as the captain of the Pakistan, and he will rate him as the second-best captain.
“I like [Mohammad] Rizwan’s personality. I started playing domestic competition with him from KPK’s side and I would rate him as the best. Since Babar has done a fantastic job with the national team, I will rank him second,” said Shaheen Afridi as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
“Babar Azam is my favourite batsman, and he is the number one batter as well. He has done fantastically well as a captain for the national team, and we are reaching new heights under him,” added Afridi.
Notably, Shaheen Afridi has represented the Pakistan side in 21 Tests, 28 ODIs, and 39 T20Is. He has got 86 wickets in the longest format of the game, while scalped 53 wickets in ODIs. In the shortest format of the game, the speedster has taken 45 wickets.
