SA vs IND: ‘I Thought It Was A Par Score’ – Suryakumar Yadav After South Africa Beat India by Five Wickets in 2nd T20I

South Africa beat India by five wickets in the 2nd T20I to take 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav expressed disappointment over India’s five-wicket defeat against South Africa in the 2nd T20I at Port Elizabeth on Tuesday, December 12, and stated that the team will take it as a learning experience.

Team India put up a total of 180 runs for the loss of seven wickets, propelled by half-century innings from both Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh, just before rain interrupted the match in the 19.3rd over.

In response, South Africa had to chase a DLS-adjusted target of 152 runs in 15 overs, and they successfully achieved it in 13.5 overs with five wickets in hand. Reeza Hendricks was the hero of the game, having scored 49 runs from just 27 balls.

Here’s what Suryakumar Yadav said in the post-match conference:

“At the halfway stage, I thought it was a par score but they batted beautifully in the first 5-6 overs and took the game away from us. It was the brand of cricket we were talking about, just go out and express ourselves.”

“It was tough with the wet ball, but we would face similar situations in the future and it’s good learning for us. Looking forward to the third T20I.”

The third and decider T20I match of the three-match series will be played on Thursday, December 14 at Johannesburg.
