Royal Challengers Bengaluru have broken their silence nearly three months after a tragic stampede claimed 11 lives and left 56 injured outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during their IPL 2025 title celebrations.
RCB had lifted their maiden IPL trophy on June 3, defeating Punjab Kings in a tense final in Ahmedabad.
But less than 24 hours later, chaos on Bengaluru’s streets turned joy into mourning, sparking outrage and investigations into the lapses that caused the tragedy.
On Monday, 84 days after the incident, RCB issued a statement on X, launching their initiative ‘RCB CARES’.
The franchise pledged to continue supporting the bereaved families and injured through financial aid and long-term assistance.
Earlier, RCB had announced ₹10 lakh compensation for each family that lost a member and set up a relief fund for survivors.
The Karnataka government had directly blamed RCB for crowd mismanagement, while the team’s initial one-line condolence message drew sharp criticism.
Their prolonged silence since June 5 left fans disheartened, but with ‘RCB CARES’, the franchise has promised to rebuild trust and “walk forward, together.”
