RCB Overtake CSK and MI to Become IPL’s Most Famous Franchise

RCB has become the most successful IPL franchise by surpassing Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has reached a big digital milestone. They have become the first IPL team to cross 20 million followers on Instagram. This shows how strong their fan base is, both on and off the field.

RCB’s Instagram followers jumped from 18 million in early April to 20 million by the end of May. This happened in less than two months, showing how fast their digital fanbase is growing.

Earlier this year, RCB also crossed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in follower count. They now sit on top of the IPL’s social media chart.

RCB’s Instagram page is full of fun, emotional, and engaging content. From match day updates to behind-the-scenes videos and fan campaigns, RCB has built a strong connection with fans of all ages. Their focus on storytelling and player personalities has made their posts more relatable.

RCB’s Chief Operating Officer Rajesh Menon had earlier said that staying real and connected with fans has helped the team grow on social media.

“We want to be part of our fans’ everyday life. Our focus is on staying real and fun. Our social media success comes from celebrating the team and our fans,” Menon said.

The growth in followers also comes after RCB’s good performance in IPL 2025. Their historic win against CSK in Chennai for the first time in 17 years brought a lot of buzz online.

RCB is currently third on the points table and will play their last league game against LSG on May 27. A win could take them to the top two, and fans will be hoping for another strong finish.
