RCB Mentor Dinesh Karthik Provides Major Injury Update on Josh Hazlewood and Phil Salt

Dinesh Karthik hints that Josh Hazlewood and Phil Salt might return for RCB’s next match against LSG.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their winning form by beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by two runs in a thrilling match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

With this win, RCB have now won eight matches this season, including four in a row, and have climbed to the top of the points table in IPL 2025.

Interestingly, RCB managed to defeat CSK even without two of their top overseas players — Josh Hazlewood and Phil Salt.

After the match, RCB mentor Dinesh Karthik shared positive news about their return. While speaking with Shane Watson on Star Sports, Karthik said they are hopeful that both Hazlewood and Salt will be back in the playing XI for their next game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Josh Hazlewood has been RCB’s best bowler this season, picking up 18 wickets in just 10 matches with a good average of 17.27. However, he missed the CSK game due to a shoulder niggle.

Phil Salt, on the other hand, has been down with illness but has already scored 239 runs in nine innings at a strike rate close to 170. RCB, under captain Rajat Patidar, will next face LSG on May 9 in Lucknow as they look to continue their winning streak.
