PSL 2025 Playoffs Set to Take Place in England

In a meeting held between the PCB and PSL franchises, some significant decisions were made.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and PSL franchise owners have reached a tentative agreement to stage the playoffs of the upcoming 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in England.

However, this move comes with a condition: franchises have requested compensation from the PCB for any financial losses incurred due to hosting matches overseas.

This decision came out from a virtual meeting between the PCB and PSL franchise owners. The meeting covered various topics, including finalizing the schedule for PSL 2025, exploring Peshawar and Quetta as potential venues for future matches, and discussing other league-related issues.

PSL Franchises Requests Compensation

The key takeaway is the conditional agreement to hold the playoffs, including the final, of the 10th edition in England. However, franchises have expressed concerns about potential financial drawbacks and requested compensation from the PCB to mitigate these risks.

PSL To Become 8-Team Tournament

Additionally, discussions regarding the future expansion of the league with two new teams were on the agenda. Notably, PSL 2025 will be the final season with six teams, paving the way for expansion in 2026.
