‘Players Were Threatened to Sign Letter’ – ACA’s Major Accusation Against Hanuma Vihari

Hanuma Vihari presented a support letter signed by his Andhra Pradesh teammate.

The Hanuma Vihari saga escalates with the Andhra Cricket Association alleging that his teammates were ‘threatened’ into signing a protest letter against his captaincy removal.

Furthermore, the association noted that Vihari initially requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to depart from the state team via email, but later retracted his plea and apologized.

Vihari announced his decision to sever ties with Andhra cricket, attributing it to political meddling within the association.

He expressed feeling ’embarrassed’ after ACA requested his resignation as team captain following an altercation with KN Prudhvi Raj, a squad member and the son of a politician. Vihari shared multiple social media posts, including the ACA’s letter addressing the issue.

The ACA presented India Today with a compilation of claims and correspondences on Wednesday, painting a completely different narrative.

“Hanuma Vihari has claimed that despite receiving support from all the players, he was removed from the captaincy. Concerned players have filed complaints against Vihari with the Andhra Cricket Association, alleging that they were forced to sign under threat. The Andhra Cricket Association will conduct a thorough investigation into all the complaints received and report the facts to the BCCI.”

“One source reported that Vihari conveyed to the Andhra Cricket Association to continue playing for Andhra and also apologized for his emotional and frustrated reaction to not being selected in the Indian team since he had not been given the NOC.”
