Australia Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins has been signed by San Francisco Unicorns in the second edition of the Major League Cricket (MLC) in the USA.

Pat Cummins to Lead San Francisco Unicorns

The 31-year-old fast bowler is expected to be the captain of the San Francisco Unicorns, following the retirement of Aaron Finch. The Unicorns have a special connection to Australian cricket through a partnership with Victoria’s top cricket teams.

This will be a busy end to the cricket season for Pat Cummins, who started the year playing in New Zealand. After the T20 World Cup, he will head to the USA for a three-week stint with the Unicorns.

Cummins joins a growing list of his Aussie teammates who will be playing in the MLC this season. Other Aussie stars expected to play in MLC 2024 are Travis Head, Steve Smith, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and the batting sensation Jake Fraser Mcgurk.

When Will MLC 2024 Start?

The MLC season kicks off on July 6th with a rematch of last year’s finals. Reigning champions MI New York will face off against the Seattle Orcas, while the Texas Super Kings take on the LA Knight Riders in the second match of the day.
