Zimbabwe scored 278 for 6 wickets in 50 overs with the help of Sean Williams (118 *) unbeaten century, which was followed by Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam (125), while Wahab Riaz (52) struck a half-century. The hosts scored 278 runs for 9 wickets and a super over was played for the conclusion.
Man of the Match
Muzarabani bowled brilliantly in the super over as he dismissed Iftikhar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah and restricted Pakistan to just 2 runs on four balls which Zimbabwe scored off just three balls without any loss.
The series was part of the World Cup Super League that helped Pakistan to 20 from two wins and Zimbabwe to 10 points from one win.
Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam, contributed the maximum for his side as he scored 125 off 125 balls with the help of 13 fours and 1 six. He added a match-turning 100 for the seventh wicket with Wahab Riaz (52).
Earlier, Zimbabwe posted 278 runs on the scoreboard for six. Seam Williams played brilliantly for his team and scored unbeaten 118 off 135 balls with the help of 13 fours, 1 six at a strike rate of 87.41 and helped his team recover from paceman Muhammad Hasnain’s best figures of five for 26.
The win broke Zimbabwe’s sequence of ten consecutive defeats and gave it its fifth win over Pakistan in 62 ODIs.
