Pakistan and England will play three Tests in December.
The Ben Stokes-led England Men’s Test team arrived in Pakistan on Sunday (November 27) morning to play a historic three-match Test series, starting December 1 in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Ben Stokes & Co. were grandly welcomed by Pakistan officials as soon as they landed at the Islamabad International Airport.
Earlier, England was scheduled to tour Pakistan in 2021 but they backed out after New Zealand abandoned their ODI tour to Pakistan owing to security concerns.
The Jos Buttler-led side then travelled to Pakistan for a seven-match T20I series, which ended 4-3 in favour of England prior to the T20 World Cup 2022.
England and Pakistan will lock horns in Rawalpindi for the first Test match from December 1-5, followed by Multan (December 9-13) and Karachi (December 17-21). The much-anticipated series is part of the ICC World Test Championship.
“It has been a long time since England have played Test cricket in Pakistan,” Stokes said in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
“With what happened with Imran Khan recently, there was a little bit of concern, but we have Reg Dickason, who has been the security man for many years with England, and we left it in his capable hands.
