‘Orange Cap Doesn’t Win You IPL’ – Ambati Rayudu Attacks Virat Kohli Again
Virat Kohli finished the IPL 2024 as the Orange Cap holder.
Former Chennai Super Kings batter Ambati Rayudu once again indirectly attacked the RCB batting legend, Virat Kohli, following KKR’s victory in the IPL 2024 title match, where they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in a one-sided affair at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Speaking in a post-match conversation with Star Sports, Ambati Rayudu stated that it’s not the orange cap that wins you the trophy, but rather the equal contributions from all team members that help secure the IPL trophy.
Here it is worth mentioning that Virat Kohli won the Orange Cap in the IPL 2024, as he ended up as the highest run scorer of the tournament with the 741 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 154 and an average of 61.
Notably, this isn’t the first time Ambati Rayudu has taken a dig at Virat Kohli or RCB. Earlier, during a Star Sports broadcast, he jokingly suggested that CSK should give one of their trophies to RCB so they could parade it in their city after RCB beat CSK in a league stage match.
In addition, Ambati Rayudu posted a video on his Instagram, reminding everyone that Chennai Super Kings have won 5 IPL trophies, with the caption: “Just a gentle reminder.”
While this may be seen as banter from Ambati Rayudu, fans of Virat Kohli and RCB were displeased with his continuous attacks on Kohli.
