Mumbai Indians to Replace Mark Boucher with Rahul Dravid as Head Coach for IPL 2025: Report
Mumbai Indians are trying to get their hands on Rahul Dravid for head coach position in IPL 2025.
In the latest turn of events, the Mumbai Indians, five-time champions of the IPL, are considering replacing Mark Boucher with Rahul Dravid as head coach for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL).
Rahul Dravid’s tenure as the head coach of the Indian cricket team recently came to an end after India won the T20 World Cup 2024 in the Caribbean, ending their long ICC trophy drought.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Rahul Dravid is in massive demand among IPL franchises, and the Mumbai Indians are one of those franchises showing a lot of interest in him.
“Rahul Dravid is being pursued by multiple franchises and there is a lot of attention on the Mumbai Indians – vis-a-vis Mark Boucher,” Cricbuzz reported.
Under the coaching of Mark Boucher, the Mumbai Indians ended at the bottom of the points table in the IPL 2024. Now the team is reportedly looking to move past him.
Rahul Dravid in Massive Demand
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals, the inaugural champions of the IPL, have already consulted Rahul Dravid for the head coach position. However, they have yet to receive a response from the Indian batting legend.
Notably, Rahul Dravid has a history with the Rajasthan Royals as he led and mentored the team in the past. It will be interesting to see if he will be ready to take up the role of head coach in one of the biggest cricket leagues in the world.
