Mohammed Shami to Return to Action for Bangladesh Test Series
Mohammed Shami is likely to return to action from Bangladesh Test series.
After a six-month break, Mohammed Shami is back on the bowling grounds. He’s been diligently training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) alongside Dr. Nitin Patel and strength coach Rajinikanth to regain his form.
Following the ODI World Cup 2023, Mohammed Shami underwent successful surgery and is currently on the path to recovery. If all progresses as planned, he aims to return for the Bangladesh test series.
According to Mohammed Shami’s childhood coach, Badruddin Siddique, the right-arm pacer has started bowling, albeit not at full intensity. Here’s what he told News18:
“Shami has started bowling. Not with a full run-up or full tilt, but has started releasing the ball without any discomfort in the nets. This is a good sign because bowling activity has begun.”
Shami has missed out on a substantial amount of cricket, including the team’s tour of South Africa (two Tests and three T20Is), the five-match home Test series against England, the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), and the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the United States of America.
