Michael Vaughan Mocks Mohammad Kaif for ‘best team didn’t win the trophy’ Remark
Mohammad Kaif refused to accept that Australia won the World Cup 2023.
Former England captain, Michael Vaughan ridiculed Mohammad Kaif for his recent comments on Team India, where Kaif refused to acknowledge Australia as world champions, asserting that India was the superior team on paper.
Notably, India, which remained unbeaten throughout the group stage and defeated New Zealand in the semi-final by a whopping 70 runs went on to lose the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 against Australia by six wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Here’s what Mohammad Kaif said:
“Congratulations to Australia but I am not ready to accept that the best team won the World Cup. This Indian team has been the best side. They would win so many times playing against the same Australian team, even though they lost today. It was one of those bad day, this happens sometimes.”
Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan has now joined other cricketers in expressing displeasure with Mohammad Kaif’s statement, taking a jibe at the former Indian cricketer for his controversial remarks.
Here’s what Michael Vaughan wrote on Twitter:
“Maybe England are World champs then .. Brilliant side on A4 paper.”
