Massive U-Turn! England & West Indies Stars Abandon National Duty to Power RCB in IPL 2025
RCB get a big boost as Salt, Bethell, Tim David, and Romario Shepherd return ahead of IPL 2025 restart.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have received a huge boost just before the IPL 2025 resumes. Their overseas stars Phil Salt and Jacob Bethell have rejoined the squad.
The league was paused for a week due to the tense situation between India and Pakistan. But after the ceasefire, BCCI announced that the remaining matches will resume from May 17. RCB will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the first match of the new schedule.
Phil Salt, Bethell, Tim David & Romario Join RCB Camp
While many teams are facing problems as their foreign players are not returning, RCB have good news. Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell are already back in India and have joined the team camp.
Apart from the English duo, Tim David and Romario Shepherd have also returned and are expected to be available for the important match against KKR. These players add power to RCB’s middle order and finishing roles, something the team will need in the last phase of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Josh Hazlewood who has been RCBโs top bowler this season is still doubtful. Australia are set to play the World Test Championship final against South Africa on June 11 at Lord’s.
Due to this, some Australian players may skip the rest of the IPL to focus on red-ball cricket. However, reports say that Hazlewood is still thinking about rejoining RCB.
While players like Jake Fraser-McGurk have confirmed they wonโt return to IPL 2025, RCB are lucky to have most of their overseas players back. With the playoffs race heating up, these returns have come at the right time for the Bangalore-based team.
