Mansi Joshi Tests Positive For Coronavirus, Ruled Out of Women’s T20 Challenge

India fast bowler Mansi Joshi will miss the Women’s T20 Challenge after testing positive for Covid-19. The tournament is scheduled to start November 4 and will conclude on November 9.
According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, the 27-year-old is currently quarantined in Dehradun and has not gone to Mumbai where the other Indian players participating in the T20 Challenger reached on 13 October.
According to the media reports, the uncapped Uttar Pradesh fast bowler Meghna Singh has been named as replacement in the Velocity squad, subject to board approval.
Mansi Joshi will remain in quarantine for scheduled two weeks starting from October 11 until she recovers from the deadly virus. The remaining Indian team is currently in quarantine in Mumbai before leaving for the UAE on October 21, where the tournament is going to be held.
Joshi has played in 11 ODIs and eight T20Is since her international debut in 2016.
The best of Indian women’s cricket will combine with some of the leading stars from South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, and New Zealand in a four-match tournament.
Thailand’s Natthakan Chantham, who scored her country’s first Women’s T20 World Cup half-century, will be the first Thai cricketer to feature in the tournament, starting from November 4 in the UAE.
