Kohli, Rohit to Reach Delhi on October 15 Before Flying to Australia
Team India will depart for Australia in two batches on October 15 from Delhi, with Rohit and Kohli joining before the flight.
The Indian ODI squad will fly out to Australia on October 15, but not all players will travel together. According to sources close to the BCCI, the team will leave in two separate batches from Delhi due to ticket and travel arrangements.
The first batch of players will depart in the morning, while the rest are expected to board an evening flight. The final schedule depends on business-class ticket availability for the long journey.
A source told India Today that senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will reach Delhi either a day before departure or on the same day. “Virat and Rohit will touch down in the capital either on the day of departure or a day prior,” the source said.
Series to begin in Perth
India’s white-ball tour of Australia will start with the first ODI in Perth on Sunday, October 19, followed by two more ODIs and five T20Is. Players who finish their domestic or international duties early may get a short break before joining the squad in Delhi.
Meanwhile, India are playing the second Test against the West Indies in Delhi, beginning October 10. The hosts already lead the series after an innings win in Ahmedabad.
Team dinner before departure
Before the team leaves, head coach Gautam Gambhir has invited the entire squad for a dinner at his Delhi home in Rajinder Nagar.
The idea, sources say, is to help the players relax and bond before heading into a long and demanding tour.
The Australian tour will be an important step in India’s preparation for upcoming ICC events, with several players looking to secure their spots in the white-ball setup.
