Irfan Pathan Fire Shots At BCCI for Alleged Partial Treatment of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer Over Central Contract
Irfan Pathan lambasted BCCI over unfair treatment to Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan.
The former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has fired shots at Hardik Pandya for receiving a central contract from the BCCI, while players like Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer have been excluded from the contract.
Notably, Hardik Pandya, who solely participates in limited-overs cricket internationally, has been awarded a Grade A contract by the BCCI.
On the other hand, both Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, who aren’t focused on test cricket and have not played in the Ranji Trophy this season, have been overlooked for contracts.
Here’s what Irfan Pathan wrote on X:
“They are talented cricketers, both Shreyas and Ishan. Hoping they bounce back and come back stronger. If players like Hardik don’t want to play red ball cricket, should he and others like him participate in white-ball domestic cricket when they aren’t on national duty? If this doesn’t apply to all, then Indian cricket won’t achieve the desired results!”
Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer Saga
Following his mid-series exclusion against England, Shreyas Iyer was asked to participate in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai to revive his prospects in test cricket, yet he opted out. Meanwhile, tensions persist between Ishan Kishan and the Indian management.
