‘IPL Bhi Na Khele’ – Sunil Gavaskar Takes Cheeky Dig At Virat Kohli For Missing Test Series Against England

Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar expressed doubts about Virat Kohli’s IPL 2024 involvement, citing the star player’s absence from the ongoing Test series against England for personal reasons.

Virat Kohli, who had been included in the squad for the first two Tests, pulled out before the first game in Hyderabad as he and Anushka Sharma recently welcomed their second child, a baby boy.

Here’s what Sunil Gavaskar said:

“Kya woh khelenge? Kuchh reason ke liye khel nahin rahe hain, shaayad ho sakta hai ke IPL ke liye bhi na khele. (Will he play? He is not playing because of some reason, perhaps he may not play in IPL as well.)”

While Virat Kohli has missed the entire Test series against England, he will surely be playing in IPL 2024. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be contesting their tournament opener against Chennai Super Kings on March 22 at M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
