Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are reportedly reigniting their pursuit of Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson ahead of IPL 2026.
Talks between the two franchises have reportedly reopened, and CSK are ready to trade one of their big names to bring Samson to Chennai.
Earlier this year, CSK tried to sign Samson, but the deal fell apart after RR refused to release their captain.
However, with discussions picking up again, here are three players CSK might offer in exchange for the Rajasthan skipper.
1. Ravindra Jadeja
The most high-profile name CSK could offer is Ravindra Jadeja. The all-rounder, retained for ₹18 crore ahead of IPL 2025, has been a pillar of CSK’s success for years. In 186 matches, Jadeja has scored 2,198 runs and picked 143 wickets for the franchise.
2. Matheesha Pathirana
The young Sri Lankan pacer could be another name on CSK’s trade list. Despite being retained for ₹13 crore, Pathirana had an underwhelming IPL 2025, picking just 13 wickets at an economy of over 10.
3. Shivam Dube
Another potential trade option is Shivam Dube, who has revived his career under MS Dhoni’s guidance. Retained for ₹12 crore, Dube scored 357 runs in IPL 2025 and has become a more mature player who can also bowl handy overs.
