IPL 2025: Will Josh Hazlewood Play vs KKR? RCB’s Director Provides Major Update
Josh Hazlewood is still recovering from a shoulder injury and may miss RCB’s next match against KKR, confirms Mo Bobat.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Josh Hazlewood is still recovering from a shoulder injury and remains in Australia for rehab.
With a big game coming up against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 17 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB fans were eager to know if Hazlewood would return in time.
RCB’s Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, shared an update on the franchise’s Bold Diaries show.
“In Josh Hazlewood’s case, he’s obviously been managing a shoulder niggle for a couple of weeks now. He’s still back in Australia and he’s still working on his rehab. We don’t have any updates right now, so we’re going to have to take that day-by-day,” he said.
Josh Hazlewood May Return Before IPL 2025 Playoffs
Hazlewood is expected to rejoin the RCB squad by the end of next week. If all goes well with his recovery, he could be available for the playoffs — a much-needed boost for the team as they aim for their first IPL title. RCB missed his services in the last match against Chennai Super Kings.
He has been in top form this season, picking up 18 wickets in just 10 matches and currently stands third on the list of leading wicket-takers in IPL 2025.
RCB Face Strong KKR Challenge
RCB are set to face a strong KKR side, and they will once again be without Hazlewood for this clash. With Rajat Patidar leading the team, the bowling attack will have to step up in the absence of their top pacer.
As things stand, fans will have to wait a little longer to see Hazlewood back in action. His return before the playoffs could make a big difference in RCB’s hunt for the trophy.
