IPL 2024 – Match 20, MI vs DC: Suryakumar Yadav Set for Return? Mumbai Indians Probable Playing 11 vs Delhi Capitals
Suryakumar Yadav in Contention to Replace Naman Dhir in MI's Playing XI
Mumbai Indians (MI) to face Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 20 of IPL 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, in a day game on 7th April, Sunday.
Mumbai Indians are yet to win a match this season, they have 3 losses in 3 matches so far. In their previous match, they were thrashed by RR here at their home ground Wankhede Stadium.
Delhi Capitals have also struggled this season, winning only 1 match out of 4 matches. They lost their previous match to KKR by a huge margin of 106 runs.
Suryakumar Yadav Set for Return
Suryakumar Yadav who last played competitive cricket in December 2023 is all set to be back into the MI XI as he has recovered from his ankle injury.
Surya is likely to replace Naman Dhir, who was given an opportunity in his absence, he looked good in the first two innings before registering a golden duck against RR.
Aakash Madhwal Impresses Upon Return
MI had a poor outing against RR last Monday, but Aakash Madwal showed promise with his 3-wicket haul.
Madhwal was the best bowler for MI last year but was not chosen to start this year, MI finally gave him a chance against RR and he didn’t disappoint.
While defending 125 runs Madhwal took the wickets of Buttler, Samson and Ashwin and gave away only 20 runs in his 4 overs.
Mohammad Nabi Could Make a Return
Nabi, an experienced off-spinner and a hard hitter batter from Afghanistan could be making his debut for MI against DC.
Tim David has failed to play the role of a finisher for MI and they might replace him with Mohammad Nabi or dropping Brevis is also an option for MI.
Having Nabi in the XI gives the captain an extra spin bowling option alongside Piyush.
Probable Playing XI of MI vs DC:
Ishan Kishan (WK), Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (C), Mohammad Nabi, Gerald Coetzee, Piyush Chawla, Akash Madhwal, Jasprit Bumrah, Kwena Maphaka
