IPL 2024 – Match 14, MI vs RR: Naman Dhir Out, Nehal Wadhera In? Mumbai Indians Probable Playing 11 vs Rajasthan Royals

Nehal Wadhera batted at an strikerate of 145 for Mumbai Indians in previous IPL season

Mumbai Indians (MI) returns to their home ground Wankhede Stadium to face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match number 14 of IPL 2024 on 1st April, Monday.

Mumbai Indians have lost their first two matches in the ongoing season and Rajasthan Royals have won both of their first two matches.

MI lost a close match against GT by 6 runs, followed by a 31-run loss in a high-scoring match against SRH. RR both of their games comfortably beat LSG by 20 runs and DC by 12 runs.

Nehal Wadhera is Expected to Get a Game:

Last season Mumbai Indians unleashed a hard-hitting batter Nehal Wadhera, he batted for 10 innings and smashed runs at a strike rate of 145 but surprisingly he didn’t start for MI this season.

He might be getting a chance against RR, replacing Naman Dhir or Shams Mulani in the playing XI.

Mohammad Nabi Can Solve MI’s Spin Bowling Issues:

MI has so far struggled with their spin bowling, Mulani didn’t pick up a single wicket and Piyush Chawla has taken just two wickets in two games and has given runs at an economy rate of 13.

Experienced off-spinner Nabi can solve their spin-bowling issues and he has been a consistent performer with the bat too for Afghanistan over the years, MI can play him instead of Brevis.

Hardik Pandya’s Form a Concern for MI:

MI’s new skipper Hardik Pandya has so far struggled with both bat and the ball, MI will need their captain to step up.

Hardik’s strike rate has been 145 which is the lowest for MI this year and his economy rate has been 10.85,  Although Hardik is returning back from a long injury lay-off.

MI Probable Playing 11 vs RR:

Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir, Nehal Wadhera, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Tim David, Mohhamad Nabi, Gerald Coetzee, Piyush Chawla, Jasprit Bumrah.

Impact Player: Romario Shepard/Shams Mulani
