IPL 2024 – Match 11, LSG vs PBKS: Kagiso Rabada over Nathan Ellis Continue? Punjab Kings Probable Playing 11 vs Lucknow Super Giants

PBKS' preference for Kagiso Rabada over Nathan Ellis is likely to continue.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) will play their 3rd match of IPL 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Saturday, Match 30, 2024.

PBKS won their first match against DC but lost their second match to RCB on the other hand LSG lost their first match against RR by 20 runs. We can expect a great game between these two sides.

PBKS Indian Core has to Step up:

Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan played a rusty knock of 45 runs in the previous match but PBKS concerns are with the likes of Jitesh, Harshal and Rahul Chahar who have not looked in their best forms.

Harshal was the most expensive buy of PBKS in the auction but he hasn’t made much positive impact in the two games he played so far. PBKS will also be expecting wickets from Chahar who is their most experienced spinner in the squad.

Harpreet Brar Shines for Punjab Kings

Brar, following an impressive performance in the first match against DC, delivered a superb spell against RCB on the challenging Chinnaswamy track. Harpreet Brar has emerged as the go-to bowler for the Punjab Kings this year.

He also possesses the ability to contribute with the bat when required. Undoubtedly, Brar stands as a valuable asset to the Punjab team.

Rabada’s Preferred Selection Over Ellis Pays Off with Impressive Performance

During the last IPL, PBKS often chose to play Nathan Ellis instead of Kagiso Rabada. Ellis is recognized as a proficient bowler in T20 cricket, particularly known for his performance in the death overs.

However, this time, PBKS opted to start with Rabada. The decision proved advantageous for PBKS.

Rabada had performed exceptionally well in the previous match, along with Brar. Moreover, Rabada appeared threatening in the first match of the season as well.

PBKS Expects Consistency from Livingstone and Curran

Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran formed a match-winning partnership for PBKS in their debut match against DC. However, the English duo couldn’t repeat their success against RCB.

Both Livingstone and Curran were purchased by PBKS for a significant sum. Consequently, the team anticipates impactful performances from them in the majority of matches.

Probable XI of PBKS vs LSG

Shikhar Dhawan (c), Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, Sam Curran, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Liam Livingstone, Shashank Singh, Harpreet Brar, Harshal Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar
